I Don't Wanna Talk About It

Howdy Friends and Neighbors,
I'm just kidding. We can talk about it.
So this week was Thanksgiving! We went to the Lewis' and had a grand ole time. LOTS of turkey. Two Cajun turkeys with Cajun gravy and a smoked turkey. Mm. So tasty. And lots of dessert. One of my favorites was a deep dish apple pie and then a homemade chocolate chip cheesecake with homemade chocolate ganache. Yeah. Spoiled. There's everyone in the kitchen.

So in other news, I'm going home and there's this plan thing that I was supposed to be given at the beginning of the transfer and I just got it on Wednesday. So I've been working on my entire life frantically in between appointments, meetings, and being sick.
I love it.
But here's what I have to do.

Anyone else overwhelmed?

So then on Saturday, I went on a blitz with my grandson. It was Spoke 'n Pedal so we biked like 25 miles in the cold and rain and got our butts a 'lil wet with the rooster tail.

While we were out though, I had another one of those experiences that made me incredibly happy to be a missionary and to know the truth. I got in an argument on Saturday with a Pentecostal guy over whether or not God has a body. He started quoting the bible and then told me that he had a higher level of learning in God and that when someone comes along with that higher level of learning that we need to be humble enough to accept it and listen. I asked him if he was humble enough to accept that we might have a higher level of learning, and he said no. So I said well then sir, the seed has fallen on stony ground. And we said God bless and we love you and went on our way.
Now while that's a story told from many a returned missionary, it really does break your heart. To see a brother not willing to accept that there could be more. There could be something better. That he could be wrong. Now I don't claim to be right all the time, or to be perfect. In fact each time someone challenges me to pray about my faith and to explore a different route, I do. But I do know who I listen to. And He always leads me back. I know in whom I have trusted. And I know that truth is eternal and unchanging. That truth is what we bring.

This is Elder Barrett. It's been cold here and he was cold so he created a nice funnel for the heat coming from the vent.

And that's pretty much what I've got. Don't worry, I'm not trunky, I'm just happy to be here and ready to keep going as long as I need to. I love this work so much.
This is a good life.
Love y'all

This is the stud Elder Barrett. Probably one of the greatest guys ever

Elder Knudsen, this morning, put on my glasses, looked at me like this and said "you sir, are blind."

And Chris and Laura had a baby! Woohoo!
