In the words of Adele: "Boy I'm Tired"
Great song. Check it out.
I honestly don't even know what happened this week it went by so fast with so much that occurred. I suppose I'll talk about a few things and then the fact that ELDER QUENTIN L. COOK OF THE QUORUM OF THE TWELVE APOSTLES CAME. nbd.
So first off, it was Rachel Horton's 30th birthday this past Friday so we fiesta'd. As you can tell things got crazy.
Straight up we just ate chocolate and played musical catch phrase. And we dominated. Yes those are ties around our heads. They're hideous because it was floral tie Friday.
Also, we found out that one of our ward members has a castle in their house so Elder Smith jumped in there and put stuff on. Here he is:
And also the Moore's cat straight up stops you from kissing it if you try:
So Elder Cook came and it was great. I'll share with you some of the things he told us about missions. The first thing he shared with us was that we are meant to be here. We were called for a specific purpose that would be important for us and others. The first reason that it might be, was that the relationship between us and our mission president would be most beneficial. The second reason was that you need to serve with certain people. The third was that you needed to speak a certain language. Whether for now or for future.
Interesting huh?
He also told us to have four loves on our missions:
1. Love your companion
2. Love the people
3. Love your mission president
4. Love the Lord
And Sister cook gave us 6 facts about missionary work:
1. You are your first convert
2. Missionaries are problem solvers
3. When we extend commitments, we are calling them to repentance
4. You succeed when you invite
5. You are never alone
(and my personal favorite)
6. You are the message.
You must be warm, inviting, happy, smiling, and everything that the gospel is.
So it was a really great week and that was just a small part of it. I wish I could write more but I just don't have time. But know that if you listen to the Apostles, you will be spiritually fed. I promise.
Love y'all,
Elder M. Wright
