What. A. Week.
Holy cow. Where to start?
This week was full of adventures.
First off, we taught our investigators, Sterlin and Britni the "stop smoking" lesson and thus far, they're doing good. We've set a date for them to get married and then baptized, and it's just remarkable to see them accept the gospel so readily. They really are prepared by The Lord. No other way to put it. We read the Book of Ether with them, and they loved it. Repentance truly is a remarkable thing. It means change. What could be better. We were able to meet with another investigator who goes to a non-denominational church, but loves the Book of Mormon. So he's going to ask his Pastor if they can study out of it. I must say that this should be interesting. Either way, we believe it will be the turning point for Randy. We love him. You should too. He likes cars so he has an old 80's station wagon that's sitting on a Mustang GT engine. Basically, the greatest gimmick ever. Love it. Love him.
And now for the Fourth of July meal.
Brisket, baked beans, cream cheese bacon wrapped jalapeƱos (known here as armadillo eggs) and then links and boudain for days.
I. Love. The South. Delicious food is a must and we ate at like four different places. I think I gained ten pounds this weekend alone.
On exchanges with Elder Smith, we found a lake.
And then we found a swamp.
Which is a funny story cause it turned out to be on someone's property so as we got out to take pictures, these two trucks roll up and the driver has a shotgun on his knee and asked "Y'all lost?" We said "Yeah, but we saw this swamp and wanted to take a quick picture..." And he said "Oh alright, God bless."
So yeah. Texas. For the record the reason I look so awkward in the swamp pic is because I was getting eaten alive by like 40 mosquitos. Then we went and played with the Moore's pets while we waited for the other elders. So this is Elder Smith with Raja and Rambo and the cat I'm playing with is Ellie.
So yeah. That's pretty much my week. Lots of adventures and fun. But hope y'all had a good fourth.
Keep the faith.
Love y'all,
Elder M. Wright
