So transfers were this past week, and I must say that while I am definitely sad to leave Kingwood, this transfer is going to be FULL of adventures.
I am in Vidor, Texas. It is a town of about 10,000, and holy crap on a cracker, is it the south! First day here, biking down the highway and I got a beer can thrown at me. Second day, girl answers the door in an american bikini and says "oh no" and closes the door. If that's not enough, here's a picture of one of the members here:
And here's his 100% ALASKAN GREY WOLF THAT HE RAISED FROM A PUPPY AND MATES WITH HIS OTHER FLIPPIN DOGS!
LIKE THIS IS A FREAKING WOLF PEOPLE! THAT YOU CAN PET AND TOUCH!
Yeah. So if that doesn't explain it, I don't know what will.
Also, there's just great people here. They are humble and loveable and basically southern hospitality is a real thing. We are working with a young couple named Sterlin and Britini who are trying to quit smoking so they can be baptized. We also had a great lesson with them where we talked about getting them married! And they want to! Happy day!
It's been a lot of fun. We get chased by dogs that try to tear off our feet, and each ride from appointment to appointment is like a half our and it's super hot, but at the same time it's all just really happy. We get to work with people who have an earnest desire to follow the Lord. It's so great. Please continue to love these people from afar as I love them dearly and I love all y'all. So keep it real.
Love y'all
Elder M. Wright
P.S. If you didn't get the reference in the title, you should look it up. Word.
So one of the stake presidency members has the missionaries over for study sessions, and he also has tunnels that run through the attic of his house for his kids and grandkids... And the missionaries apparently.
