So this is Cupcake the dog. She sits on my lap during all the lessons with Carolina and is super sweet so while I was supposed to be teaching Carolina, I took a selfie with her instead.
You can't really see how adorable she is, but here's a picture of one of the puppies in Raul's (a member) shirt pocket. It's the only way to keep him somewhat quiet during a lesson.
So basically our lessons with Carolina are great because there are puppies. Which made these next two pictures a little easier.
I don't know if you remember the Howard's from the beginning of my mission, but we stopped by their house in Baytown for some assistance with YSA's and found out they're moving! So we had to say goodbye. It was sad, but luckily Hank and his fat suit made it funny. But they will be missed.
So Carolina is next to me, and between her and Elder Stephensen is McKayla. McKayla is a member of the Branch who helped fellowship Carolina, and is one of the sweetest most missionary minded people I've ever met. She has a great joyful spirit that invites people in, and unfortunately, she's going up to school! So there's another goodbye! Basically half our YSA is going back to school, so this week was full of sad goodbye's as the people we had come to love were leaving. So that's where the puppies come in:
This little guy, whom I lovingly named Gordito fell asleep on my arm last night during our lesson and it just made all the goodbye's a little better.
We also had the opportunity to go to the temple, and seeing as it might be my last time there, before I go home, I decided to enjoy it. And I can tell you that I did. It was so peaceful, and as I sat and pondered, I felt the assurance from the Lord that I had done well and that now was the time to push through. But just knowing that the past 20 months have been acceptable to the Lord was magnificent. I can't think of a better feeling. So I know this is true. I say it every week, but I know it is. I can't deny it. I could never logically deny it. It's too real. I promise.
Keep it real.
Love y'all,
Elder M. Wright
T.H.E. Mission
Alright, now we look normal.
