So this week was pretty nuts. First off, transfers happened. My new companion is named Elder Berry. He's from Hooper, Utah and was actually the MTC companion of Elder Lawrence. We've been having a riot together. Here's a picture of him trying to listen to the hermanas conversation next door.
So we did a lot of knocking this week and someone had this really cool lion on their front porch that wanted a Book of Mormon, so we gave it one.
Also, It was my best friend Olivia's birthday! So us and the hermanas had a party for her without her. Sorry you missed it. But It was a lot of fun and the cake was delicious, (I made it myself in case you can't tell) and don't worry, I wished for something good. So, happy birthday Liv. You're the best.
Also, we got this new investigator named Tammy this week and she is SO COOL. Her son Dillon is 7 and has some learning disabilities, and he started talking to the hermanas in the street one day, asking them what they were doing. When they told him they taught people about Jesus, he immediately asked if he could learn about Jesus. They said they'd come back tomorrow, and he asked "why not today?" So he ran to get his mother, who immediately invited the sisters in. They taught some things and then said they'd come back tomorrow with the elders. As we sat with Tammy and the hermanas, and taught this wonderful lady about the restoration, and her relationship to God, the spirit was so strong. You could tell that Heavenly Father wanted nothing more than for her to know that what we had to teach was true. We went back the next day, and taught her more, and it was so great. She accepted a date for July 26th and we're going back to see her tomorrow. What. A. Miracle. I cannot begin to describe how amazing she is and how much I love her and Dillon already. This is what it's all about. These moments are what makes not just two years, but a lifetime of living this gospel absolutely worth it. This joy is indescribable.
I love this work. I love these people.
I love y'all,
Elder M. Wright
P. S. We found a snake, and killed it with one of our less actives. Here's a picture.
In our church we believe in baptism by proxy. This is birthday by proxy.
