Howdy Friends and Neighbors,
So first things first, my camera battery died and the charger is still in Broadway so I have no pictures this week. Sad day.
Second, I'm in Beaumont, TX!
Well, its pretty sweet. So before I got here, there was a branch that elders covered, a singles branch that sisters covered and a ward that the zone leaders covered.....I think. Well, now the branch has been dissolved, and I now cover half of that ward and it's awesome. The old 5th branch area is basically straight ghetto. People stare at us when we're down there, and they think we're cops a lot of the time so they get super scared when we're asking for someone.
Then the rest is straight country. About 30 miles of like four different towns that we cover. It's a pretty great mix.
My new companion is named Elder McDonald, and he's from Kansas. Been out about three or four months. Pretty great guy. Very enthusiastic and confident in the work.
Also, the best part about this apartment is that it used to be a sisters apartment, so it's decorated really well.
Let's see... what happened this week...
Well, we went knocking on Thursday night and knocked into a guy that let us in named LaDon. We taught him the Restoration and he was kinda leary. But then we offered to do some yardwork for him and he lit up and was like "Now that's what Christ would do!" So this week, we're gonna go teach him the second lesson and mow his lawn.
Also we're teaching a guy named Robbie Rich who is straight up a 64 year old hippie with Hep C. And he's hillarious. He's just like "Yeah man, the church needed to be restored, cause God just wanted us to love each other, that's the only way to peace man." And that's basically one of the greatest testimonies I've ever heard.
So yeah, that's my new area, and it's awesome. I'm super pumped to be here. I love the people already.
